At the beginning of 2022 we launched our Artist Partnership program, a project designed to highlight diverse artists whose work reflect unique perspectives on life. Their designs are featured on the inside of our box to represent our goal of making healthcare more affordable, accessible, and inclusive. A new, limited-edition artist design is now available with your Wisp order!

Our second artist collaboration is with Laxmi Hussain! Laxmi hails from London, where she was born and raised. She's inspired by the body as a vessel, and by motherhood. As such, she desires to challenge the idea of what we consider to be a normal body—all bodies are unique, and this is a perception she strives to normalize through her art.

There is so much scrutiny on what a perfect body is and so much of life is assessed by how the visual of the body fits into so many scenarios where it shouldn't need to be - I use my work to try and remove this negativity, I want us to feel more at home in ourselves and to also feel like we all can be seen.

Laxmi has been drawing for as long as she can remember. As a child in London, she would lose hours after school, sketching on the counter in her dad’s corner shop. But it is only since the birth of her first child, that Laxmi has turned her passion into a profession. Re-inspired by the irrepressible joy in creativity shown by her children, she picked up the pencil once again, finding artwork to be a valuable means of reclaiming her own identity amid the emotional blurrings of motherhood.

You can find her on IG @thislakshmi, read more about her on her website thislakshmi.com, and purchase more of her work here!

If you happen to be in London, check out her work IRL—she's recently completed a big project at Wembley Park.
