Herpes Medication FAQ
How do I get rid of BV at home?
While bacterial vaginosis symptoms resulting from chronic BV and recurrent BV both require prescription medication to treat, the good news is you can easily cure BV at home. If over the counter BV cures aren't working, it's very likely that your BV symptoms require prescription-strength BV medication, such as Flagyl (Metronidazole). BV symptoms should begin to lessen after a few days, but it is important to take the full course of antibiotics to ensure the BV infection is completely removed from the body.
What prescription products work for Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)?
We offer the most effective FDA-Approved medication available to treat BV: Metronidazole (Flagyl, Metrogel, MetroCream, Nuvessa, Noritate, & MetroLotion) & Clindamycin (Cleocin, Clindagel, Evoclin & Clindacin P). If you find that one medication works best for you, you'll be able to let your doctor know upon checkout. Otherwise they'll prescribe the best medication for you based on your symptoms.
How do I treat chronic BV or recurrent BV with medication?
While Bacterial Vaginosis antibiotics are the most effective cure for BV, recurrent BV and chronic BV means the infection can return if certain lifestyle changes are not met. One poular BV treatment for preventing recurring BV is to use Boric Acid suppositories following a round of BV antibiotics, such as Flagyl. Boric Acid is a proven over the counter treatment for BV and works by helping the body regulate a good balance of bacteria.
How fast can I get medication?
Our doctors will review your information and if safe and appropriate, will prescribe (additional) medication for pick up within 24 hours (usually within 2-4 hours). If you haven't received an email within 24 hours, please send us an email and we make sure this is called in ASAP!
Do I need insurance?
Nope! If you have it, you can use it if you choose to pick up your medication at your local pharmacy. However, if you don't, the price is included in the price for delivery and if you need to pick it up the same day, we offer coupons to keep your total under $20!
