Ingredients: Metronidazole [500mg], Metronidazole 7.5mg per gram [0.75%], Clindamycin [300mg] or Clindamycin 20mg per gram [2%], cellulose, FD&C Blue No. 2 Lake, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol, stearic acid, and titanium dioxide.

Overview

Like bad weather, BV is unavoidable sometimes. Thankfully Bacterial Vaginosis is easy to treat with prescription meds—and to prevent with over-the-counter remedies like Boric Acid. Left untreated, BV is not "dangerous," however it does cause vaginal inflammation that can make it easier to get an STI during sex. Bacterial vaginosis occurs when there’s an imbalance of “good” and “harmful” bacteria in the vagina. BV antibiotics fight off the bad guys and help your body restore balance.

What prescription products work for Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)?

We offer the most effective FDA-Approved medication available to treat BV: Metronidazole (Flagyl, Metrogel) & Clindamycin (Cleocin, Clindagel). If you find that one medication works best for you, you'll be able to let your doctor know upon checkout. Otherwise they'll prescribe the best medication for you based on your symptoms.

How do I treat chronic BV or recurrent BV?

Though BV has the potential to go away on its own, there are several ways to cure it if it persists. Typically, a medical professional will prescribe you an oral or vaginal antibiotic such as clindamycin or metronidazole. Though antibiotics are intended to kill the bad bacteria, they may not get rid of the bacterial imbalance altogether. Because of this, recurring BV is common. If you want to prevent BV after treatment, our doctor's recommend using Boric Acid after you've completed antibiotic treatment.

How do I get rid of BV at home?

While bacterial vaginosis symptoms resulting from chronic BV and recurrent BV both require prescription medication to treat, the good news is you can easily cure BV at home. If over the counter BV cures aren't working, it's very likely that your BV symptoms require prescription-strength BV medication, such as Flagyl (Metronidazole). BV symptoms should begin to lessen after a few days, but it is important to take the full course of antibiotics to ensure the BV infection is completely removed from the body.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not currently accept insurance for doctor consultation or prescription costs. We aim to make this treatment accessible for everyone :) The medication cost is included in our prices when shipped from our pharmacy. However, if you choose to pick up medication at a local pharmacy, you can use your insurance to cover that local pharmacy's additional fee.

_Can I pay for wisp with FSA & HSA?

Is the first month free?

Yep, we'll pay for your first month of meds. No promo code necessary, the cost of 1 month’s meds is subtracted from the quarterly total and applied directly in the cart at checkout. First-time users only.

How do I know wisp is legitimate?

You can check our LegitScript certification at the bottom of our site (a 3rd party accreditation service that Google uses and requires in order to advertise prescription drugs). Left untreated, BV leads to discomfort & odor, but it also causes inflammation that makes it easier to acquire an STD
