Instructions

You have stated that you wish to use a topical medication in order to alleviate the pain caused by herpes outbreaks. The medication you have been prescribed is Lidocaine-Amitriptyline Cream, which you are to apply topically as needed. Apply to the affected area up to 4 times daily.

Refills

If your symptoms aren't getting better after you start taking the medicine or if you develop new or worsening symptoms such as fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, or pain, you should see a doctor in-person and call or message us immediately.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

While Lidocaine-Amitriptyline Cream is safe to take during pregnancy and breastfeeding, if you become pregnant or are breastfeeding you should stop taking this medicine, call or message us immediately, and talk to a doctor in-person.

Emergency Side Effects

WARNING/CAUTION: Even though it may be rare, some people may have very bad and sometimes deadly side effects when taking a drug. Tell your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms that may be related to a very bad side effect:

• Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash, hives, itching
• Red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever
• Wheezing
• Tightness in the chest or throat

• Very bad irritation where this drug is used

Boxed Warning: should not be used in children under 3 years old due to risk of seizures or cardiopulmonary arrest.
