Yep! This is one way to manage initial side effects of Tretinoin Cream if you find yourself experiencing a lot of redness or flaking as your skin adjusts. You can try mixing your tretinoin with moisturizer, limiting your use to once every other night or to a couple nights a week, and making sure to only apply to dry skin (damp skin absorbs more product and some patients say this makes their side effects more intense).

Why Can't Acne Cream and Tretinoin Cream Be Used Together?

If your primary concerns are fine lines and wrinkles, we recommend our Tretinoin Cream which contains azelaic acid to help boost tretinoin's smoothing power.

Due to "background risk," every pregnancy carries a 3-5% chance of birth defect. While several studies have investigated the reationship between topical Tretinoin use and pregnancy, there is no conclusive evidence that Tretinoin increases the chance for birth defects when properly applied to the skin. In general, however, we recommended not using Tretinoin while pregnant or breastfeeding.
